From Kabul to Congress

Community Champion
As CEO of the Kindness Sharing Project (KSP), an international nonprofit organization, Alaha has dedicated her career to fighting poverty, human trafficking, and human smuggling. KSP advocates for justice, fairness, equity, and equality — helping heartbroken people in need across the globe.
She won the 2nd Project of the Year Award at the Virginia Statewide Neighborhoods Conference in 2018 for her leadership in bringing the entire community together for the Paradise Park Project at Barros Circle in Centreville, Virginia.
Frontline Public Servant
Working with Fairfax County's Department of Family Services, Alaha served as a Victim Advocate Specialist and Equity Team Lead with the Domestic & Sexual Violence Services Division (DSVS) and the Domestic Violence Action Center (DVAC).
Every day, she helped survivors of domestic violence navigate the justice system, access critical resources, and rebuild their lives — giving her a deep, firsthand understanding of the challenges Virginia families face.

A Poet's Heart, A Fighter's Spirit
Alaha is an internationally award-winning poet and writer. Her poem "Instead of Hate, May Love Rain Down" earned her the title of "Empowered Poet of 2012" at the International World Poetry Peace Festival in Canada.
She has been named Ambassador of Youth and Peace for Afghanistan and the United States, received the "Big Heart" Award from FACETS, and was appointed as a Global Goodwill Ambassador — all recognitions of her tireless work for a more just world.
Rooted in Family, Guided by Love
Family has always been the foundation of Alaha's life and the source of the values that guide her public service. Raised by parents who taught her the importance of hard work, compassion, faith, and perseverance, she learned from an early age that serving others is both a responsibility and a privilege.
Alaha credits much of her success to the sacrifices, guidance, and unwavering support of her mother and father. Their example shaped her commitment to helping families, standing up for those in need, and building stronger communities.
"The blessings, prayers, and tireless efforts of my parents have been the greatest gifts in my life. Everything I have achieved is rooted in their love and guidance."
As a daughter, community leader, and advocate, Alaha carries those family values with her every day — honoring the lessons of her parents through a life dedicated to service.
